The Best Super Bowl Commercials of 2020

Written by Fabrizio Colombi | February 14, 2020

There is one event every year that feels like a holiday all in its own. It has a huge following and die hard fanbase. The Super Bowl has, is and will be America’s favorite sports event to watch. The event itself has even become a tradition for a lot of families. Even though the Super Bowl is packed with thrill and excitement, the commercials in between them have also been considered as a tradition in itself. Brands try to beat one another and make a big impact on the audience with how witty and innovative their own commercials will be. Since most of these ads are only about an average of 30 seconds to 2 minutes each, there are dozens of them shown through out the timeouts, quarter brakes and even the half time break. All of them are good as it is but there are a few that are considered to be the best ones out there. Below is a list of the best Super Bowl commercials of 2020.

Tide All Star

With how big of a brand Tide is, they didn’t hold back on the production value for their commercials. They cashed on the strong chemistry between Schitt’s Creek’s Emily Hampshire and Sunny in Philadelphia’s Charlie Day. Two renowned comedians who can make even the most mundane things seem as funny as possible. The series of Tide commercials starts with Emily accidentally staining Charlie’s white shirt during a Super Bowl viewing party. Emily brushes it off and tells him to wash it later as Charlie struggles to decide exactly what later means. The other short ads showcase a medieval setting with the Bud Light knight, a collaboration with Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and a guest appearance during the Masked Singer showcase. It’s a light and funny setup with a lot of notable collaborations from other notable brands and names.

Google Searches for Heart

There is one tested and proven formula when producing poignant commercials, and it's that everyone will remember even after the game. Ads that hit your emotions with heartfelt and realistic settings will still have a strong production impact on almost everyone. Google pulls hard on your heartstrings as it showcases an elderly man trying to search for his Google Assistant. What he searches is what hits home as he looks for old memories of his departed wife and reminisces on the simple and cute moments that they had together when she was still alive. It shows how human Google actually is and how much they actually care for their audience.

Microsoft Continues to Revolutionize

The powerhouse tech company reminds us how much effort they try everyday to keep advancing and innovating with their brand by paying respects to an innovative moment in sports history. They organized a stunning collaboration with Katie Sowers. They showcase her history of how she became the first ever woman in NFL history to coach during the Super Bowl. It’s a revolution on its own as it proves that women do have the power to be anything and even make history. The whole commercial tells snippets of her life from being an Offensive Assistant Coach to being Head Coach during one of America’s biggest event
