5 Jobs Artificial Intelligence Will Replace

Written by Fabrizio Colombi | September 17, 2019

In today’s era, Artificial Intelligence has grown smarter, in a way people start wondering whether their jobs are still safe or not. Artificial Intelligence is already doing better jobs than humans in some aspects of sales and marketing, too. AI can analyze sales calls faster than any sales managers could. As an example, it would take almost nine years of non-stop sales call analysis for a typical human to compete with AI, given that they don't sleep or take vacation. It is only a matter of time before they take over and play a bigger role in every process we make.

Although there might be a higher chance of losing jobs, it was advised not to panic just yet. This is because AI predictions are not 100% accurate and are not always a one-size-fits-all approach. Additionally, there will be jobs that won’t be strictly replaced – they just might be adjusted to account for these new technologies.

The following jobs are the ones that can be replaced by AI.

  1. Telemarketing

This shift has started already because people receive calls from robots on behalf of various products or services. Telemarketing is a first on the list mainly because telemarketers do not require a high level of social skills to be successful. Since it has been discovered that the rates for direct telephone sales are typically less than 10%, it is safe to shift this role to be automated.

  1. Bookkeeping Clerks

Through the years, bookkeeping is becoming more and more automated because of emerging applications such as QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Xero, and a whole bunch of others that are way much cheaper than hiring a person to complete the task. All you need to do it study the software and in no time, bookkeeping will be an easy task for you.

  1. Compensation and Benefits Managers

Although the demand for this position will seem to rise within the next years, it doesn’t make it safe from automation. As a company grows in size – especially for multinational markets - the brick and mortar system, like the human and paper-based systems can have more hurdles, time delays, and costs. By using an automated benefits system, they can save time and effort in providing benefits to large numbers of employees.

  1. Receptionists

There is also a rise of the automated phone and scheduling systems that can replace the position of a receptionist. This is especially with companies that don't have office-wide phone systems, or multinational corporations that have high technology equipment.

  1. Proofreaders

Proofreading softwares are already available anywhere. From Microsoft Word’s simple spelling and grammar check to the Grammarly and Hemingway App, there are already a lot of technologies that can make proofreading easier and makes it easy for you to self-check your writing.
