As marketers, we can all agree that lead generation is one of the hardest tasks to do. In fact, 97% of marketers agree that content marketing gives plenty of opportunities for a business to flourish. This is according to a survey conducted by HupSpot and Smart Insights.
Who said writing content is easy? By now, you’re probably thinking about your daily, weekly and monthly quota for new ways to attract more traffic to your site or blog. You might be wondering if there are new tricks that could help you keep your head above the water.
Before we could dive into that, it’s best to take note that there is no sure way to solve that problem. Even with tips and tricks, it is still up to the content marketer to decide how they can make ends meet while coping with their day-to-day responsibilities and routines. With that said, here are a few tweaks to help you generate more leads. This may be helpful if you want to improve your lead generation for the year 2016.
Tweak # 1: Update your current CTAs
Call-to-actions (CTAs) are an important asset in lead generation, however many forget that the market and the target audience are dynamic, ever changing and hard to please. If you had a hard time looking for that right blend, what better time than the beginning of the year? That’s why it is important to stay updated so you can stay relevant to them.
You don't have to start fresh, just use what you already have. About 76% of monthly blog post views and 92% of blog leads come from old posts. As long as your content is still relevant, it is still fresh content. It is important for marketers to update and optimize these old posts into something new, current and relevant in order for them to continue generating leads.
Tweak # 2: Keep an eye on keyword alignment
Old trick, but still effective. If you know what keyword/s users are constantly using to find a post; incorporate those keywords in your content, and it will create leads. You also have to make sure that whatever CTAs you have in your post also matches your keywords so that you will have the right conversions.
Tweak # 3: Optimize existing offers for better search results
In an analysis done by HupSpot, it was found that 15% of the monthly organic leads originated from that same month and 57% came from other offers. Something to consider if content marketers want to keep on creating leads without straining themselves on thinking of new approaches and articles.
Tweak # 4: Make use of different formats
Sometimes the reason why you slow down in generating leads is because your target audience is getting bored with your current format. Why not try unconventional formats, like webinars, or ebooks? According to the analysis by HubSpot, webinars can generate up to an increase of 18% and ebooks 12% in leads. Before you venture out to these new waters, do a bit of research and trial runs to see which alternative works best for your marketing strategy.
